Heat Pumps & Air Conditioners

Heat pumps work by extracting heat from the air on the ground outside and pushing it inside to heat your home.

Because heat pumps move heat directly, rather than converting fuel into heat, they’re more efficient that baseboard heaters or furnaces.

Heat pumps require a backup heating system that kicks in when the temperature is too cold to allow the heat to transfer. Backup systems aren’t as efficient, so if it is running constantly, you’ll lose the efficiency and savings a heat pump can provide.

Don’t have a central air system?  Ductless Mini-split heat pumps are a great option for controlling the temperature in individual rooms or spaces. Mini-split systems have two main components, an outdoor compressor/condenser and an indoor air-handling unit.

At Thomas Heating & Electric our certified heating technician can help you pick a heat pump that is the right fit for your home.
