Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV)
When homes were leaky, planning for effective ventilation didn’t matter so much.
but the new B.C. Building Code increases the air tightness requirements for new homes in B.C., making ventilation is increasingly important.
HRV’s are an energy recovery ventilation system using equipment know as a Heat Recovery Ventilator or air exchanger. This equipment transfers stale air from inside your home and transfers it to incoming fresh air from outside. This process enhances your comfort and helps control wintertime condensation.
